Clean Cookware Essentials for Your Holistic Lifestyle

When I started paying attention to what was in our food, I quickly realized the cookware we use matters just as much as the ingredients we put in it. Non-stick pans coated in PFAS, plastic utensils, Teflon-coated bakeware — these things were in my kitchen for years before I understood what they were doing. Here is what I switched to and why.

Why Cookware Matters
Most conventional non-stick cookware is coated with PFAS chemicals — also called forever chemicals — that can break down at high heat and leach into your food. These chemicals have been linked to hormonal disruption, thyroid issues, and other long term health concerns. Switching to cleaner materials is one of the highest impact swaps you can make in a holistic kitchen because you use your cookware every single day.

The Bakeware We Use
STAUB Ceramic Rectangular Baking Dish Set
Most baking dishes are coated in synthetic non-stick materials that break down at high heat. Glass Storage — For the Fridge, Pantry, and Counter
Once I cleaned up my cookware I started looking at how we were storing food. Plastic containers, plastic lids, plastic wrap — all sitting against our leftovers in the fridge, often heated up in the microwave. These are the glass swaps we use now.
Anchor Hocking Glass Trifle Bowl with Lid
Beautiful, versatile, and completely non-toxic. We use this for storing large batches of food, serving salads, and keeping fruit on the counter. Pure glass with a lid — no plastic touching your food.

The Mugs We Drink From
Ava Nord Ceramic Coffee Mugs Set of 4
Most ceramic mugs are coated with synthetic glazes that can contain lead or cadmium — which leach into your hot drinks with repeated use. These Ava Nord ceramic mugs are beautifully designed, free from toxic glazes, and make your morning coffee feel like a proper ritual. Because what touches your coffee matters just as much as the coffee itself.

The Bottom Line
You do not need to replace everything at once. Start with the pan you use most, then work your way through bakeware and storage when you are ready. Every swap is one less source of daily chemical exposure for your family.
